Sometimes, in the Dollmaking Biz, we really need to communicate! Below is a guide of what I'll need to know. Gather your information, and then Contact Barbara. For custom dolls, I'll require 50% of payment in advance, and the balance upon completion of the doll. If you'd like to have a doll made for you just like one you saw in the Gallery, that's easy. Just tell me. Price information is given in the Gallery. If you'd like some changes... perhaps hair color... that's fine. No extra charge. If, however, you'd like a doll in a wedding gown just like yours... that's a little different. We''l need to talk. I'll suggest a price based on my best estimate of my hours. If you'd like a dollhouse family, I'll need to know the age, sex, race, eye color, hair color, and any other special physical characteristics such as glasses, braces, pot bellies, bald heads, etc. Though I do pay attention to race and eye color, the doll faces are all the trademark "Kith & Kin" faces. I take much pleasure in creating personal, meaningful dolls that I know will be treasured forever! Portrait dolls cost a little more. I do my best to actually copy the faces on the dolls from photographs. Dollhouse doll bodies may also be ordered. I make the dolls, but you enjoy embroidering the hair, painting the faces, and making the clothing. The blank dolls are $20 each. I'll need to know the age and sex of the dolls you'd like to order. I'll make the dolls from unbleached muslin, unless you specify the use of the special dyed Caucasian or African American fabric. |
