Design Services
Hiring the services of a designer to give physical form and "blueprints" to what is YOUR idea can be very expensive, and very frustrating. Here, I present how I work, how it benefits and protects you, and how it benefits and protects me. I charge $2,000 for a good design. Payment is made in installments as the work is done. I require no contract, and the process may be ended at any time. I expect no future royalties.

  1. You provide me with a written description of the item you want designed. This includes any ideas and information you have, including pictures and sketches, preferred fabrics, etc.. Include payment of $200.00. Copy everything you send me and send it to yourself also via registered mail. When you receive your package... do NOT open it.

    For You:
You have contacted me for initial work. Perhaps you are concerned that your idea might be stolen. Your unopened package protects you. Opened in any courtroom it would testify to what was your idea first, and with a reliable witness- the U. S. Postal Service. You may end the process here, if you choose.

    For Me:
I receive a fair wage for my time as I provided my ideas, sketches, and fabric samples to you.

  2. When we are in agreement about what the doll will look like and what it will be made of, you send me payment of $300. I will create a prototype. I will create another if reasonable changes are required.

    For You:
You have a prototype in hand, and can even ask that some changes be made. You may end the process if you choose.

    For Me:

I have been reimbursed for the days of work I have invested.

  3. You have decided that you like the design, and would like to go to the next step. You want to manufacture the doll! You send payment of $500, and I will provide you with complete patterns and directions to create the doll with my written permission for you to use it as you choose for 1 year. I will hold the copyright.

    For You:
For $1,000 you have a design, a prototype, and complete patterns with directions. You are free to manufacture the doll and market it. You have 1 year to see profitability from your great idea.

    For Me:

    I hold the copyright.

  4. You make final payment of $1,000.

    For You:
You have a great idea, a complete design, and the copyright.

    For Me:

I have been compensated for my design work and skill.
